CurePSP Midwest Family Conference (Chicago) - Friday & Saturday, June 23-24, 2017

Midwest Family Conference for Atypical Parkinson’s disease patients June 23-24 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago. We have some excellent speakers lined up and don’t want anyone to miss out; especially since we will be live streaming

The conferences include various speakers with in-the-field expertise - neurologists and movement disorder specialists who work directly with patients and their families. These experts address issues related to day-to-day life including the best ways to manage symptoms, the impact of the diseases on the family, and how to cultivate perspective of meaning and joy despite the struggles of the disease.

Parkinson's Disease: More Than Motor Symptoms - Wednesday, June 28, 2017 6-8 PM CST

Symptoms of Parkinson's go beyond the tremors most associated with it and can include depression, anxiety, insomnia, even psychosis in some cases. During this two-hour presentation, you will hear from Parkinson's experts on non-motor symptoms and how they can affect the daily life of someone with Parkinson's. This is a consumer based program discussing Parkinson's Disease and psychosis. Those living with Parkinson's either as a patient, family member, or caregiver are encouraged to attend this Evansville event. Food provided. RSVP required.

Mid-America Institute on Aging and Wellness - Thursday & Friday, August 10-11, 2017

MAIA, co-sponsored by SWIRCA & More, is a two-day gerontology conference for lay persons, nurses, social workers, older adults and professionals working in the field of gerontology. Each year, national and local speakers provide practical tools and ground-breaking information related to successful aging and gerontology. Purpose: this conference will provide practical tools and ground-breaking information to enable the attendee to incorporate life-enhancing strategies for successful aging into their professional practice
